East Side Information:
Vehicle reservations will not be required on the east side of the Going-to-the-Sun Road until the road opens in its entirety which generally occurs in late June. You will need a reservation to access the road from West Glacier after May 27th.
You will be able to access the St. Mary Visitor Center as well as the portion of the Sun Road between St. Mary and Rising Sun without a vehicle reservation.
You will not need a vehicle reservation to utilize the park shuttle service from the St. Mary Visitor Center. The shuttle is provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Shuttle system operations have evolved during the pandemic and we recommend checking back with nps.gov closer to your visit for current information.
All other eastern entrances to Glacier Park including Many Glacier, Two Medicine and the Belly River will not require a vehicle reservation.
Helpful Tips:
You can access the Going-to-the-Sun Road anytime prior to 6 AM or after 4 PM without a reservation.
Reservations with a park concessionaire such as Glacier Guides or Glacier Park Boat Co will provide entry to the Sun Road for the day of your reservation and must be for a service that requires Sun Road access to partake in such as a boat tour on Lake McDonald.
We recommend that you register for an account with recreation.gov in advance of when you will be applying for your vehicle reservation. While there, purchase your park pass to save time at the entrance station.
